About Us
La Cabaña is proud to say it has been offering a Genuine Taste of Mexico in Venice since 1963. What was once a small thatched roof hut or "cabaña" marked the beginning of the restaurant's history. Over the years, La Cabaña has flourished into a landmark restaurant in Venice, California that has remained true to its heritage.
Soon after opening, the restaurant began making handmade tortillas on the premises. In fact, we were the first Mexican restaurant on the Westside to offer hand-made tortillas with its dishes. We were also one of the first to serve authentic Mexican "platillos" and continue with this tradition today. Our Carnitas for example, are prepared in the style found in Michoacan, Mexico while other dishes like our Carne Adobada, are prepared from recipes that are indigenous to the regions of Jalisco, Mexico. Hear what our critics have to say about us!
La Cabaña has only one location. It is independently owned and is not affiliated with any other restaurant.
The Founder, Nina L Haro, always recognized and appreciated our employees; some of whom have been with us since our first days in business. They know the importance of fast, professional service, which has been one of our main goals and we continue to honor them as family for their extreme loyalty and continued dedication. Our customers are also valued greatly and they too have been with us since we opened and have seen the transformation from the once small hut to the present day La Cabaña. We thank you all for your patronage and contributing greatly to our success over the years.
